After determining that a quorum is present, the Public Art Committee of the City of Denton, Texas will convene in a Special Called Meeting on Friday, May 21, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Work Session Room at City Hall, 215 E. McKinney Street, Denton, Texas, at which the following items will be considered:
A. Consider approval of the minutes of April 16, 2021.
B. Receive a report, hold a discussion, and give staff direction regarding the Original Denton District's application for the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) Arts Respond - Cultural District Project grant program.
C. Receive a report, hold a discussion, and give staff direction regarding a letter of support from the Original Denton District for an application being made by the Tejas Storytelling Association (TSA) to the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) Arts Respond - Cultural District Project grant program. ..Body
D. Receive a report, hold a discussion, and give staff input regarding the status of the following Public Art Committee projects: Ongoing Projects 1. North Lakes Dog Park 2. G. Roland Vela Athletic Complex 3. Tennis Center 4. Fire Station No. 3 5. MLK, Jr. Recreation Center Sculpture 6. Denton Women’s Interracial Fellowship Monument Newly Funded Projects 7. Carroll Blvd. Art Trail, Dallas and Teasley Sculpture, and Bonnie Brae Roundabout Sculpture
E. Receive a report, hold a discussion, and give staff input regarding a request from City Council to develop a work session on the creation of a public-private partnership for the funding of an interactive fountain at Rayzor Ranch Park.
F. Receive a report and hold a discussion regarding the Public Art Committee Annual 2021 meeting schedule.
